From Mom (via Sissy and Donna). This used to be my favorite cookie.

Sissy

  • 1 stick butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 tbsp cocoa
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3 cups oats
  • 1/2 cup nuts (it did not specify what kind, I would use pecans)

Melt butter in pot. Add sugar cocoa and milk. Bring to a boil. Boil for 1 min. Remove from fire (what mom said) and mix in oats and nuts. drip onto waxed paper (I imagine spoon a cookie sized portion onto wax paper is fine)

Donna

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 cup sugar
  • 3 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 3 tbsp chunky peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup miniature chocolate chips (real chocolate, not the fake kind)

Combine milk, sugar, coca, peanut butter and butter in a medium heavy saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat and boil for 1 1/2 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in oats, vanilla and chocolate chips. Mix until everything is incorporated. Lightly grease a teaspoon and drop the cookies by the greased teaspoonful onto waxed paper lined cookie sheet. Cool until set.
